Subject: Gun Trucks using Militec

Bob,
SSG Joe XXX sent me an e-mail about contacting you on the 1087th's experiences with Militec. Everyone in the unit has been very pleased with the performance. With things heating up we have had a few instances where our gun trucks have responded with MK-19s, 50 cals and M249 saws. Our guys are very reliant on weapons with the mission to escort and provide security for civilian convoys going to Iraq. Militec is definitely the best lubricant we have ever used and is especially good in the desert environment when compared to the use of CLP. I used the NSNs from the brochure you gave me when we first met at the range and had my supply sergeant order several cases of large and small bottles thru the supply system. It was available in a couple of weeks for us to pick up. Since then we have used it at the range and on missions and are very pleased with the results. I am glad to hear that it will be available in the system regularly. Feel free to contact me with any quest ions.
Thanks,
CPT Mike XXXX

Dear LTC Carpenter,

I thought you would want to know what is going on with Crew Served Weapons that our Soldiers are using in Kuwait and Iraq.

I will not copy you anymore on events that are taking place in Theater with Crew Served Weapons.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Mr Giordani
Let me be very honest, I always appreciate updates from the field, so much so that I have POCs in both AORs and conducted interviews myself. My point is that I understand you have issues with ARDEC and the USG, therefore your information is lost in the context of the current situation.

Thank you

Colonel Carpenter,

I have an issue with ARDEC canceling over 120,000 in requisitioned war orders from Iraq and Kuwait. Further, the Commanders in Theater were not notified that their orders were cancelled. I also have a problem with folks that don't tell the truth.

I have no problems with the USG, they are our best customer and we have the approvals from them that are second to none.

Its individuals within the government that abuse their authority, is where I have a problem. These are the people that I will challenge until we are treated fairly.

I have one question that I would like you to answer. Do you believe that the current MilSpec CLP is a better product for desert combat conditions than MILITEC-1? If you can't answer that, how about, is MilSpec CLP a good product for desert combat operations?

Thanks,

Brad
