 Gentlemen:

 The Smart Ship Project appreciates your participation in response to the Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) which was announced as N00024-97-BAA-4103. For purposes of future reference, your proposal titled "Militec-1" has been designated as Smart Ship proposal number 0876 and was categorized for evaluation under our Hull, Mechanical & Electrical Evaluation Team. An evaluation of your proposal abstract was completed in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 35.016(d).

 Our evaluation has determined that your proposal has potential and is within the current area of interest and goals of the Smart Ship Project. Our team members will continue to research, evaluate and track the feasibility of implementing your proposal on board USS YORKTOWN (CG 48). Should the Navy decide to pursue your concept, you will be notified and provided further direction at that time.
