This command has been informed by the Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet of your interest in supplying quality aftermarket lubricant additives to the Navy. Enclosed is the Guide on Methodology for Evaluation of Aftermarket Fuel and Lubricant Additive Materials. This guide provides Department of Defense requirements for aftermarket additive evaluation.

The Army is the lead agency for all aftermarket lubricant evaluation for the Department of Defense. It is recommended that Giordani Enterprises contact U.S. Army Belvoir Research and Development Center, Fort Belvoir, VA 22060, Attn: STRBE-F, for consideration of your company's additives. Once the Army has completed a successful evaluation, the Navy would evaluate the product against requirements specific to ship systems.
